Nov/Dec 2024
Dear Parents,
It is hard to believe that the holiday season is right around the corner! Because of the shortened months in November and December, we have merged the newsletters to include the important dates and information up to the December break. Additionally, we have combined the November and December conference schedules and have included that document at the link. As a reminder, please make sure your child has uploaded their required work samples to the “November/December Work Sample Assignment” via Google classroom a day prior to your scheduled conference.

Yesterday, our class took on the creative challenge of building scarecrows! Students teams designed scarecrows around the donated clothing and worked together to bring their plans to life. Each team cut fabric, sewed faces, and used markers and fabric scraps to give each face a unique personality. They assembled wood frames, dressed them in layers, and added hay for a full effect. By the end of the day, the students proudly installed seven finished scarecrows at the entrance to Moreland Woods, ready to greet everyone throughout the month of November!

The Moreland School District will be closed on the following dates:
-
Monday, November 11th in observance of Veterans Day
-
Monday, November 25th through Friday, November 29th for Thanksgiving Week
-
Monday, December 23rd through Friday, January 3rd for Winter Break
HSP classes will resume on Thursday, January 9th, and Friday, January 10th.

For students who missed the field trip, artist Stephanie Metz wanted you to know that she will be onsite at her In the Glow exhibit at the Triton Museum to chat and answer questions on Sunday, November 3, and Saturday, November 23, from 1-3pm. This is another great chance to connect with her!
Wishing you a wonderful holiday season!
